4:45 PM 45*F sky overcast - 1st outing of the season in search of signs of flowering plants at McCormick's Creek State Park - found one Harbinger of Spring 682 Erigenia bulbosa in bloom Snow Trillium 1489 Trillium nivale and
Sharp-Lobed Hepatica 30 Hepatica nobilis with buds , most likely to bloom in a few days unfortunately did not check my camera equipment and the batteries were dead in all but the go-pro . with the weather being favorable more flowering activity coming soon |
FEBRUARY 26 6:50PM 46*F SKY PARTLY CLOUDY almost dark - McCormick's Creek state Park , at the " Hot Spot" in the Park - that Place the soil is thin and the limestone under heats up allowing wildflowers to bloom a week or two sooner than any other place in the area as expected added 3 more plants to the list ---- Snow Trillium 1489 Trillium nivale ,Sharp-Lobed Hepatica 30 Hepatica nobilis and surprising False-Rue-Anemone 37 Enemion biternaturm March 05 in 2017 there were a few dozen snow trillium , good thing they last for weeks |
